AGATE
Historically, Agate was placed in water for use in cooking and/or for drinking in order to dispel sickness. In general, Agate balances yin-yang energy; cleanses & stabilizes the aura by transforming & eliminating negative energy; helps in self-examination and in examination of one’s circumstances; stimulates analytical capabilities & precision; increases perception; promotes marital fidelity; gives courage; ferrets out the truth; heals; and its energies are grounding but energetic - useful when sudden bursts of energy are needed. Physically, Agate has been reported to strengthen sight & in general, the body and mind ; diminishes thirst.
Agate has been believed to open its wearer to receive unexpected favors from the Deities.

This stone is a green, microcrystalline quartz with white and sparkly inclusions of Hematite or Mica which give a spangled appearance. What you see in this picture is Red Branch Coral. Red Coral has been called “a stone of Venus.” It helps one to take decisive action without judgment; aids detachment from another when needed; aligns self with the source of all wisdom; helps one to be in harmony with all universal forces & it protects its wearer from depression and despondency. In general, Coral represents continuity and structure. It is sensitive to heat, acids, hot solutions and can fade when worn against the skin.

FLUORITE, RAINBOW/FLUOR SPAR
Rainbow Fluorite, “a stone of discernment and aptitude,” is also known as Fluor Spar. This gemstone’s energy discourages chaotic, disruptive & disorganized growth and so brings order to chaos in one’s life. The deep red Garnet, in Victorian times (mid-late 1800’s), was the favored stone among women for it represented constancy and dedication in love. HEMATITE
Hematite, throughout my website, is not true Hematite. As a matter of fact, in today’s world, true Hematite is a very rare stone in the Earth. Virtually all Hematite is man-made and very closely resembles the color, shine and weight of true Hematite. Purists would argue that imitation Hematite would not have the same properties as true but I will list some of them and leave that decision up to you. It is extremely grounding & centering; enhances mental capability; provides tranquility; balances emotions; gathers courage; dissolves negativity & then transforms it into the purity of universal love.

HOWLITE, White
Howlite has an ivory white background with a spiderweb pattern of fine black lines. Many pieces of White Howlite are similar to the markings of the full moon. It dispels criticalness, cold selfishness & facetious-ness, bringing both strength, innocence & tact to immediate confrontations. Howlite has also been known to balance calcium levels in the body.

IOLITE/CORDIERITE
Iolite, “the stone of intuition, the violet stone,” is also known as Cordierite. This translucent stone ranges from a bright grey/purple to a darker shade of purple-blue in color and is mined in Africa. Iolite aids in meditation, astral travel & visions; helps one to painlessly change; rids relationship disruption; aids one to enjoy each moment; helps one to accept responsibilities & in being precise. It is used well for elimination of debts. On a physical level, Iolite aids the healing process. It is helpful in reducing the outward effects of alcohol drunkenness and inner effects of liver toxicity. It has been shown to be helpful in the treatment of malaria and other disorders that cause fever.

LABRADORITE, Blue/SPECTROLITE
Blue Labradorite, a gem feldspar, is also known as Spectrolite. It is characterized by its green and/or blue flashes on a grey background & is said to represent the “temple of the stars.” It has a similar schiller as Moonstone. This gemstone guards, clears, balances and keeps the aura free from energy leaks; symbolizes both Sun & Moon; stimulates mental acuity and can help to reduce anxiety & stress. Labradorite aids one in progression; in increasing vitality & in discernment in direction-taking. MOONSTONE
In general, Moonstone’s characteristic visual properties are a chatoyancy, a milky-sheen or the exhibition of those traits on a portion of the specimen. Natural (not treated) Moonstones appear in White, Peach, Rainbow, and Silver. Its energy is balancing, reflective, lunar and relates to new beginnings in one’s life. It is a stone for feeling and for hoping & wishing, bringing flashes of insight. Moonstone enhances perception & discernment which helps one to easily make decisions about one’s future; alleviates emotional tension; enhances creativity & self-expression. MOTHER of PEARL, Natural & White/NACRE
Mother of Pearl, “gem of the sea,” is also known as Nacre. It is generally cut from the large oyster shell. You may see it in its natural state (warm, tawny color with a rainbow flash), bleached (beautiful white sheen glazed over an ivory background) or black (cut from the smooth interior surface of the Black Mother-of-Pearl shell and assembled, plus epoxy-coated at the tops of cabochons to protect it from breakage).
Mythologically, the MoP shell is symbolical of Latona or Leto, “goddess of the dark night,” mother of the Sun god Apollo and the Moon goddess Artemis or Diana. As the ancient story tells, She, while fleeing from the fury of Hera, Queen of Heaven, reached an island rock, driven about by restless waves, which when solidly fixed by Neptune became the famous island of the Aegean Sea, Delos. Here were born the radiant twins Apollo and Artemis in a flood of golden light, while the sacred swans encircled the island seven times. The golden light, so powerful at this event, is the light which at conjunction (new moon) blends with the silvery light of the night orb. Mother of Pearl is a good gem for sea lovers and it helps keep one balanced in love & relationships.

QUARTZ, Rock Crystal
The big word here is “ENERGY”!! Quartz has both piezoelectric and pyroelectric properties; the polarity of the quartz crystal will change when it is either subjected to pressure or heat, as well as when it is held in the hand; the tip, normally positive & receiving energy, will then change and become negative, thus, emitting energy which will radiate from the tip or from an edge. These properties support the amplification, focusing, storage, transfer, and transformation of energy. Rock Crystal or Clear Quartz aids one to see situations clearly and into the purity of another’s intentions.
